Great stuff, as always. Good to see a Pole win it at last, I probably would've preferred Zmarzlik but his time will come. Doyle finished the meeting well and probably would've won if he'd had an inside gate in the final but Janowski was a worthy winner. Nice to see a place on the podium for Matej Zagar, Slovenia's second greatest sportsman. Roll on next year.

I remember watching Dickie Davis and World of Sport in the seventies. If there was one sport guaranteed to get me reaching for the TV off button it was speedway.
Ivan Mauger and Phil Crump are the only two names I can recall.

I lived the top end of Llanrumney easy walk to the Bluebell and no 30 bus, quicker to go the Newport than Cardiff on the bus . It was a good drinking town , Somerton speedway was awesome , other riders hated it as it was squarer track than most because of tge pitch , Peter Collins used to avoid riding there as Crumpy and Street would destroy him off the boards .
I used to bike over to Somerton , loved every minute .
