I would like to think that no one would have an issue with a player coming out and it would be treated as a very normal thing.

We are more likely to need a conversation about how casual or subconscious homophobia impacts on that player.

It's a fetish not someone's sexuality so it's a bit different but if they are proved otherwise I'll hold my hands up and say I was wrong, there's nothing wrong with progress or being progressive if it means people can live a happier life.
