Classy interview as well, no grudges or ill will towards anyone.

"....his set-piece prowess and effortless playing style earned him hero status with the club's supporters."

Trying to think of synonyms for 'effortless'.....

A testimonial is a must. In the meantime it would be great if we drew Blackburn at home in one of the cup competitions & Whitts could then get his wish.

Too good for us for most of the time we had him tbh

End of the season for me, but it'll be likely when he finally retires

Some kind of Whits event sooner rather than later would be so good. These kind of affairs can risk fizzling out a bit if ages pass before they come to fruition - which could be likely in this case.

Not always wise for a player to appear overly sentimental when they have moved to a new team. We know how fans can be.

It's a tricky one now and a real shame that he didn't simply get a great send-off.

    I hope something can happen.

Unless it's a direct rival club I don't think that's a problem at all. I'd actually like to see it tbh from a fans point of view a player showing some loyalty and fan appreciation can't be a bad thing surely

Indeed not. I meant it more as a potential uneasiness for Blackburn fans BTW, but you are right.
Fan perceived loyalty is a straaaange thing. Thats all ;)

Yeah I think in Whitts case it was a case of couldn't be arsed to move more than loyalty but a club legend is not over playing his contribution

It will be very different if Blackburn get promotion and we are in the same division next year
