    Re: Patrick McIleney...yethe another player

Dundalk reached the Europa League group stages last season, having reached the Champions League Playoff, losing 3-1 on aggregate to Legia Warsaw, so not that bad

To get there they beat a team from Iceland and a team from Belarus, so it's hardly a ringing endorsement.

They beat BATE Borisov fairly comfortably who reach the group stages fairly regularly

Dundalk aren't world beaters but they're a decent side

Seems like Patrick Mcelleny was highly influential in that game too, but one cup upset doesn't make them a good side.
They've been knocked out of Europe this season already by a Norwegian side.

The only thing i know about this lad is that bluebirdgossip retweeted an irish journalist who said that Cardiff scouts were at their game watching a Rosenberg player and he told them to keep an eye on Mclleney.

To get into the group stages of the Europa League and not get embarrassed is still a pretty decent indicator of a side's quality

Daryl Horgan and Andy Boyle both played for Dundalk last season, both are Ireland internationals and are now at Preston so the club must be of some standard

Makes them better than the England national team though?

Interesting that we were scouting a Rosenberg player.
I wonder who that could have been.

Apparently they have a highly rated young left back and there are a lot of clubs sniffing around a central midfielder called Fredrik midtsjö, but by the other clubs linked that could be out of our depth.
