I've lost weight, rarely drink alcohol, just got a new mattress, used those plastic nasal strips, none of that has changed anything, Steve shouting in my face until I end up getting up usually works

The only thing I've seen people say works are those gum shield things.

Supposed to move your jawbone in a position where you don't snore or something

The gum shield keeps your mouth open a bit more and moves the jaw a bit more forward.

The idea is that if you sleep on your side with your mouth open, you shouldn't really snore. If you sleep on your back with close airways you will.

I've got a relative with sleep apnea + snores ridiculously load.

Lying on their side stops it more or less completely. Only they aren't as comfortable in that position. So that that isn't an option for them. So their partner has to just put up with the snoring.

tell him to sew a tennis ball into the back of a pyjama top and wear that to bed. It will be more comfortable to sleep on his side than on the tennis ball, when the mind and body has retrained to sleeping on the side stop wearing the top.

I never sleep on my back though, apparently if I'm not snoring I'm kicking my legs instead so I'm annoying either way.

My mrs don't half snore, and she farts loudly all night too. The people next door often bang on the wall to tell her to keep the noise down.
