I didn't realise until now with the plight the country is in , the dreadful murder rates in Caracas alone is amongst the highest in the world and that was before this turmoil its shocking ,I thought they were a settled country.

This is an interesting show and worth a listen...

"Richie talks about how the IMF and The World Bank are trying to destroy Venezuela economically, how the media enables it and why it is vital that the Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro stands firm. Richie explains how Saudi Arabia, The US and Israel conspired to wreck the Venezuelan economy"

Corbyn is now under scrutiny and under pressure to toe the Media line on this and to denounce Maduro outright.
Difficult situation for him. He probably wants the tell the BBC to go f*ck themselves.

10 bolivars bought 1 US dollar up until 4 years ago. Today it'll take 20,000 bolivars to purchase an identical US dollar.

What I've never quite grasped from previous examples of hyperinflationary economic collapse in Hungary during the 1950s and Germany in the 1920s is how the public sector continued to function.

I'm sure outside forces effect South American countries however the brutal nature of their own people upon each other is astonishing, and the socialist programmes which have been applauded by some dont seem to reduce that behaviour, or poverty and even deploy extreme contolling mechanisms, you look at these countries right or left and I thank god I was born British for all its faults .

It isn't really any different here, we just started from a far higher position due to us 'absorbing' other countries wealth for years and years. We are similarly a country where everyday working folk are increasingly getting shat on by people that adopt positions of power simply to feather their own nests. Blaming the ideas that underpin 'socialism' (which you may or may not be doing, but many commentators have) for acts of immense greed (30% of Venezuela's oil revenue disappearing into a few people's pockets) is like blaming a gun for shooting somebody. It is as though we are acknowledging that as human's we can't possibly be nice to each other so let's not even try.

I'm sure your right but there is something extremely violent in South American countries that border on brutality in high numbers, corruption ,drugs ,cartels that would wipe your family out with a blink of an eyelid ,kidnapping is a hobby, the frightening thing they are not murdering other people its their own , I'm sorry to disagree we are so much better than that on many levels.

Obviously it has gone belly up but why ?
Although you get the romantic view of the countries socialism, in my view its a dangerous dream and hurts the vulnerable as much as capitalist countries does ,the leaders quickly surround themselves with lots of high ranking well paid generals , apparently they have more generals than most countries , the military controls food distribution, and many other key activities,, its a strange environment to consider as a true democracy ,by use the military, cleverly just stopping t stopping short of being actual junta .

I see no difference to this controlling hierarchy that creates severe poverty and wealth gaps, than that of the alleged evil capitalist ones .

Any country that doesn't have or escapes from the yoke of the Zionist controlled network of central banks get targeted. See Libya, Iraq and Afghanistan for recent examples.

Yes it's a shame they have the wealth but are unable to manage it in a business like way to give comforts to thier own , that part of the world has a long history of drugs , military rule ,violence and oppression.

Libya - After Tony Blair kissed Gadaffi in that tent in the desert - it was supposed to be able to bring Libya in from the cold etc. ISIS soon put a stop to that - and the fact that Libya is a made up country - which is fundamentally 2 separate tribes who hate each other.

Just goes to show that an open and fair democracy, the rule of law etc seems to be quite difficult to achieve for some countries. You cant turn a tinpot / banana republic / dictatorship into a civilised country over night
