    Plovdiv. Stunning place while still a bit rough round the edges. 2 litre bottle of beer in the supermarket for about 70p or £1 for a better tasting one. Meal out with the missus came in at less than £10 in a traditional Bulgarian restaurant.

    When he was sick he was escorted to the British Military hospital for treatment where they had a whole floor (called men's medical) clear all the time just for him, with his cell ward right at the back.
    We used to do close protection on that floor to prevent him being sprung by neo-nazis. A company of infantry did the external perimeter cordon. This also meant escorting him when he exercised on the hospital roof, which had a 12 ft chain link fence all round the edge of it to prevent him topping himself. given a choice I'd have let the shite jump. He never renounced anything the bastards did and still revered Adolf till the day he finally did manage to top himself!! complete cwnt with everyone he dealt with.

    Seriously interesting stuff there.
    He’s a massive part of modern history...unfortunately.

    Are you 100% sure he topped himself? There is a lot of info out there that suggests otherwise....

    I'm lucky enough to have visited some stunning places in the world and have just returned from a cruise where we called at two places which are up there with the best. Kotor being the first with the latter Kefelonia. Having said that Krabi in Thailand is the most fab place we have ever been to. i'll never have any money as all mine goes on seeing this fantastic planet........life's too short.

    Still on the bucket list is:

    Lots of places in Canada
    Hawaii
    Barbados
    West coast USA and parks
    Alaska

    and top is a return to Oz, having left there in 1977.

    One Day.................................

    I’ve always had great times in Bangkok and never felt under threat except for a birthday trip a couple of years ago when I ended up in hospital but that was my fault

    The only areas I can think where visitors might feel in any danger are;
    Khaosan for yuppie backpackers getting ripped off by the locals and the not so locals

    And Nana when consuming too much beer could possibly lead to you making the biggest mistake of your life. Going back with a gorgeous girl to find out she has a pair of bollocks as well might be a life changing moment
