Thread: Could we ....Can we?

  1. #1

    Could we ....Can we?

Could we beat Burton away, the opening match of the season? We did.
Could we beat the mighty Villa? We did.
Would we follow up, could we follow up with a win against Sheffield Utd. We did.
And now the anti is even higher.
Can we beat unbeaten big spending Wolves away from home?
    It's exciting, isn't it.

It's the whole reason we enjoy football - after the last few years to have the promise of a good competitive side again makes all the crap times worth going through...

Fixtures to come look tough too,
Always at Fulham, Preston, Sunderland , Birmingham, Boro
Homes v Derby, Leeds, Sheff Weds, QPR

Out of those 9 and Wolves it's hard to see where we'll pick up many points.

If we are still in the hunt after that lot then we really will be worthy of being taken seriously as challengers.

The next dozen or so games after look much more winnable

Yes. It's about the next couple of months.
As my youngest son said to me tonight " we already have almost a quarter of what is needed to avoid relegation from just three matches"

A little too early to get excited for me
Fantastic to be thinking about being a competitive team though

I don't think you have too much to fear at the moment Tim. You can win all four of those home games and maybe edge a win at Brum and a couple of draws elsewhere.

Exactly. The season has only just started and the team are already ratcheting up the points. There'll be wobbles and bad patches ahead but successful periods like this will stand us in good stead.

I just hope fans continue to support the team when we start to lose , and draw games. I hope that they don't immediately label players as rubbish and not good enough. Long old season. With fine lines between winning and losing.

I honestly think we're going to get promoted without conceding a goal.

Spot on. We have 9 points in the bag after 3 games which is more than what we had achieved after 11 games last season so a good start all round
