If the player turns out to be younger and is a success, it's always better to buy so we own the asset. Loans are lower risk as you're not stuck with the player if they turn out to be rubbish. Wish OGS and Slade had loaned instead of bought.

There were some articles this morn saying that Neil was insistent that the Tomlin transfer was half the cost to what was reported - 1.5m, not 3m. Hopefully there's room for us to spend.
Shame we haven't been able to move on enough players this window though.

I think we'll see some move on right at the end of the window.

Word from Malaysia is “Not a penny more”.

Now where’s that been said before?

Sometimes loan moves don't always work out mind. Do they always put 100% in at their adopted club with injury and a return to their parent at the back of their mind?

We've seen loads of 'high profile' loans even here that turned crap. Ravel Morrison, Quincy, JLS, all come here with a point to prove and just couldn't be bothered.

I love the way our Neil goes about his business. The way that statement is made is persuasive but far from negative or too strong for the board. He is making it easy for them to say yes. Something a lot of top flight managers could learn a lot from.

I was wondering if a cheeky bid for that QPR goalkeeper is what he meant. Was really impressed with him.

NW was on Talksport this morning and said that, if he was to enter the transfer market, it would only be to acquire a squad player in midfield as he felt that was where it was a bit thin. He said that if nothing happened he would not be too unhappy. Also, as part of the piling of agony on Arsenal, he said he wouldn't swap Morrison and Bamba for the Arsenal central defenders!
