    Frederic Gounongbe

    No 26

Not seen in the flesh since last December.

    Never seen in training videos.

    Never mentioned in injury updates.

No speculation about a move in the transfer window.

    Still on the payroll.

    A man of mystery!

    Good to have an explanation.

However, it would be nice if someone (club, media....) acknowledged his existence.

Healey, Camp and Patterson (and Connolly plus a few other shorter term injuries) have all been name checked in interviews or covered in club video pieces.

Guonongbe has been airbrushed. He may have no future with the club (who knows) but he was our No 9 this time last year.

I agree. I do find it bizarre that he doesn't even exist anymore!

    Do Newport County want him?

In the 3rd division days picking up a 1st division's gamble of a striker who had scored hatfulls abroad would have been the sort of signing to hopefully excite.
