I still think Wales can top the group. Need Ireland to beat them on Tuesday, then for Wales to win all remaining games. Serbia still have to go to Austria who are a good team.

If Ireland beat Serbia and Wales beat Moldova the group looks like this

Ireland 16
Serbia 15
Wales 14.



Serbia then go to Austria, Ireland play Moldova and Wales have the tricky game in Georgia. Assuming Wales and Ireland win, and Serbia fail to win we have

Ireland 19
Wales 17

Going into the last game.

No it doesn't but would hope 20 points would be enough. Anything less than 20 points and we are really struggling for a play off place. Why not just have eight bloody groups to avoid this arbitrary process?
My biggest concern is Georgia away. We need our best midfield combo for that game.

Yes should have 8 groups and cut 6 teams out. Lowest 12 teams should have to play a preliminary play off. The likes of Gibraltar serve no purpose.
Now a team who has gone through an 18 month qualifying campaign, finishing 2nd, won't even get rewarded with a play off game for their efforts.

Even with 9 groups of make the 8th and 9th worst runner up play off in a one off game at the home of 8th worst to make up the last play off spot.
