Featuring the great Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter on lead guitar. I was lucky enough to catch him live with the Doobie Brothers, at the Reading Festival in '77

Such a talented musician. He did all the guitar work, including a great outro solo, on FM

    Re: Walter Becker

Very sad, at a relatively young age too. A truly great musical band - probably my favourites.

The only upside is that we'll probably be treated to some great 'in memorium' programs on BBC Four and Sky Arts, detailing their history, showing their live performances, and generally celebrating their great music. I'll have Sky Plus ready to record as much as possible.

    Re: Walter Becker

Totally class band. Introduced Latin rhythms and jazz flavourings into rock along with sarcastic lyrics on society, not many bands were doing that at the time. All the albums they made in the seventies are totally indispensable.

    RIP Walter

One of my all time favourite tracks https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jzU-0lOZDSw

For me Steely Dan are like a fine wine, I didn't truly appreciate them when I was a teenager, but as I've mellowed with age, I appreciate their talent more, and could, and do, listen to them for hours

Ditto but at the Rainbow. No Zippy or Geoffrey though.
