How very sad. Dead at a relative young age too. He's actually two years younger than me.

Husker Du were a hugely a influential band, besides their revolutionary sound they were the first alternative band to sign with a major label, hence opening the door for the many great bands who followed in their footsteps.

Once saw his Nova Mob band ,saw Husku Du many times , and I'm a huge follower of Bob Mold who is still delivering that sound we Husku Du fans love .

I remeber listening to New Day Rising for the first time, and thought this was going to change music and bands influenes forever.

So much prefered this sound to that of UK punk .

The Sex Pistols weren't an alternative underground act, they were manufactured! Husker Du were trailblazers, them and Black Flag. They will forever sit comfortably in the history of music as one of the most influential bands

No Husker Du = no Pixies, Nirvana, Peal Jam, etc.

Bob has a new band now and they are as near to Husku Du as you can get saw him twice this year in the Globe quite a phenomenal performer these days seems to have left the pop of Sugar behind him and returned to the Du sounds .

Still does Hoover Dam and Husku classics like "" hardly getting over it "" which is an astonishing piece of music

Manufactured by a bloke who owned a clothes shop. Hardly mainstream. And there'd be no Back Flag without them.

Yes makes no sense to me but there you go

Washington DC hardcore sound was very influential on a lot of the metal I listen to nowadays , minor threat , fugazi had a punk sound but had very grating guitar which was nice
