    Don't forget that an undulating surface covering a square mile on a map has a greater surface area than a flat tract of land covering the same square mile.

    In fact I'd even move the decimal point one place to the left for England and 3 places for Wales.
    Despite the assumption that we are overrun with people and not enough space for houses to be built, there is a he'll of a lot of space and green belt in many counties.

    The answer is....England is 2% buildings and Wales is 0.9% buildings.

    Isn't there an old saying that if you rolled Wales flat it would be twice the size of Inglund?

    How much of this land can you actually go and take a stroll on though. Maybe the question should be what percentage of population owns the land. I liked the original question n all though. You can see the self serving housing crisis for what it is.
