Nope, it's the saturation of stand up acts that is killing comedy.

If that's the case where is the risky comedy on television

Jerry Seinfeld and Chris Rock refuse to perform at colleges in the US these days because of all the precious snowflakes getting offended at the drop of a hat, getting their professors fired for fook all and then retreating to their "safe spaces".

It's a far cry from "The Greatest Generation".

Ignore him, he's just being a gay faggot as usual.

I'd say it was the liberal types who liked Chris Morris, and the anti-PC brigade who were most offended by him, funnily enough. There does seem to be a lack of risk taking but how much has that to do with PC or, especially in the BBC's case, not wanting to offend the Daily Mail and its readers? Maybe we're just in a lull. There seem to be very few distinct voices out there.

As usual the minority ruins it for the majority but isn't it also a bit of Mr Famous Guy, used to being adored and can't take it when a few people don't like his act and respond in a stupid way, can't he just deal with it rather than flounce? Whose the snowflake?

Making TV is all about following a formula that works, same as music and film. Why is a production company or channel going to take a risk on making a 'cult classic' when they can churn out a panel show that 4 times as many people will watch?

Well I don't know about that. I do know that Universities/Colleges are a comedians best crowd 99% of the time so for them to actually stop performing there is quite a strong statement in itself.

Fair point, but I'd suggest that's less about PC than getting it 'wrong'.

Yeah definitely I agree, monotonous comedy on TV hasn't got much to do with 'PC' at all.

Yeah I suppose when you compare that to fighting and dying for your country in a World war or something I can see why you would feel hard done by.

I don't think Adz is comparing his generations struggles to the World War 2 generation.

Maybe he's comparing it to the generations in between?
