We could easily have been 3 up in the first quarter of an hour, we are quicker to every ball, but we haven't capitalised on our undoubted superiority.

Another goal will sort it, but when they hit the post it sounded a warning.

Feeney can be replaced by Hoilett, I hope. Hoilett is twice the player.

Mendez terrifies them with his pace, but he gets into great positions and then......

Sunderland are really just hoping for the best.

    We really should win this.

You gave me hope Rich and BOOM its 2-1 ... Cant even get radio coverage down here in the gower.

That surely must be considered job done. To win 1-2 away. Good stuff.

    Great 3 points.

Shame Ipswich and Barnsley couldn't stop the giants of this league () from winning as well.

Good win, could've and should've been done and dusted within the first 20 but 3pts on the road is always fantastic so I'll take this.

After conceding the most disappointing of goals, our response was superb. there was then only one team in it until we got the second, and then we held on comfortably, if striding around an apartment in Gran Canaria swearing and shouting can be called comfortable!

I've said so many times when we have lost by the odd goal "but they had another gear". That was us today. Massively superior to them, on their own patch, but this is the Championship. I would love us to get McGeady at some point, he's a danger man.

Worries- Manga improved later in the second half but he doesn't win headers like Morrison or Bamba, and always looks capable (to me) of making a ricketts.

Feeney I thought was disappointing when we were totally dominant, but he's not bad, just reluctant to take his man on for a winger. Warnock obviously likes him though, and who am I to argue?!!

Bryson not so influential in the second half but an excellent overall display.

And the bonus -Bogle came on and did just what was needed - worked very hard, held the ball up, showed pace, and looked a really decent player who might well disturb a defence. The Warnock factor is kicking in with him, it seems.

A great result, in a scenario where we were once again going to be the fall guys - and we weren't by any means that!!

    Bluebirds!!!

The keeper never goes the right way though when he takes them. I take penalties for my club side, and if you score, its a good pen. Half of it is trying to get the keeper to go where you want him to go.

Added to this, he closes his foot at the last minute to send it to the keeper's left at the right minute after seeing the keeper move.

Looked awful to me. If he sent the keeper the wrong way, fair dos , it was a great penalty then.

Exactly of course its a good pen. I havent been convinced with him as the taker but hes got a 100% record has the balls to take one and this one is a good one.

Sunderland boss Simon Grayson could welcome back defensive reinforcements as he looks to end a six-game run without a Sky Bet Championship victory against high-flying Cardiff.

Marc Wilson (groin) and John O'Shea (calf) are closing in on returns, while loan signings Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning could be options having been ineligible for Wednesday night's Carabao Cup trip to parent club Everton. In addition, midfielder Aiden McGeady is close to being available after shaking off a hamstring problem and strikers Duncan Watmore and Josh Maja are both working their way back from knee injuries.

Grayson made six changes for the 3-0 defeat at Goodison Park and Robin Ruiter, Wilson, Bryan Oviedo, Lee Cattermole, Callum McManaman and Jonny Williams could all return with the Black Cats desperate to improve on a return of just two points from the last 18 they have contested.

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock could freshen up his attack as the Bluebirds look for a first win since the end of August. Liam Feeney, a deadline day signing from Blackburn, Danny Ward and Lee Tomlin all impressed when coming off the bench against Sheffield Wednesday last weekend, with defender Sol Bamba netting a stoppage-time equaliser.

Midfielder Craig Bryson will be hoping to retain his place after being drafted back into the side against the Owls, but Danish forward Kenneth Zohore could be taken out of the frontline after failing to score since Cardiff's win at Burton in their opening game. Scottish defender Callum Paterson continues to build up his fitness following knee surgery as the summer signing from Hearts closes in on first-team contention.

    Opta stats

The Black Cats have won four of their last six league meetings with Cardiff (D1 L1) most recently a 4-0 win in the Premier League in April 2014.

This is the first Championship meeting at the Stadium of Light between the sides since October 2006, which Cardiff won 2-1 thanks to a brace from Michael Chopra.

Simon Grayson has ended on the winning side once in 12 previous managerial meetings against Cardiff (D3 L8), a 3-0 win for his Preston side last season.

Kenneth Zohore has had more shots (31) and shots on target (12) than any other player in the Championship this season. Despite this, he has found the net just once.

The Black Cats are currently enduring their second longest home winless league run in their entire history (14 games). Their worst run came between August 2005 and May 2006, when they went 18 games at the Stadium of Light without winning.

Cardiff have won three points from goals scored in the last five minutes of Championship games this season, more than any other side.
