Pilkington Hat-trick for U-23's today.... and Paterson & Camp also play

City's U-23's won 4-3 against Charlton - and played with 10 men after Mark Harris sent off.

Sounds like quite a game with Pilks also missing a penalty. Calum Paterson getting up to speed.

Can't wait to see him in the first team; we'll be a different side.

Thanks for that. I like the DVP thread on here but it can lead to some relevant stuff about City (and Wales) getting a bit buried. Camp and Paterson's return to fitness will give Warnock a couple of decisions to make soon (as will Kadeem Harris and Rhys Healey's at a later date). TOBW's take on the game.

Thanks for that, sounded good. Pilkington is an odd one. He played in that DVP game against Swansea a couple of years ago when Ben Watkins got sent off. He'd started off up front then dropped into centre-mid when we went down to 10 men. He was coming back from injury but I was struck by his commitment and professionalism that day, as you were yesterday. I remember him arguing with the ref about a decision and thinking to myself 'this guy really cares'. Yet a lot of his performances for the first team seem the complete opposite. That number 10/third central midfielder position should have been ideal for him at home last season but he just couldn't get involved so often in games that it's hardly surprising Warnock lost patience with him. Even the odd goal here and there couldn't kick-start him into form. Shame really, he should be an ideal guy to have on the bench but he turned into a Jack-of-all-trades and master of none at first team level. It'll be interesting to see if Warnock has a bit of a rethink about him now.
