Has the rule changed about players leaving the pitch after receiving attention?

Leeds were going nuts that Hoillet didn't leave the pitch on Tuesday, and there were two more occasions today where the referee didn't make the players leave the pitch. There must have been a rule change but the way the players and the crowd have reacted then if there has been most of us don't know the rule.

Rule is now that if a player receives treatment due to a foul that leads to a yellow card, the player does not have to go off.

Rationale was that it punishes the side down to ten men temporarily as a result of being fouled.

Rule does not apply to goalkeepers or two players from same team who collide with each other.

    Referee:

Stops play if a player is seriously injured and ensures that the player is removed from the field of play. An injured player may not be treated on the field of play and may only re-enter after play has restarted; if the ball is in play, re-entry must be from the touchline but if the ball is out of play, it may be from any boundary line.

Exceptions to the requirement to leave the field of play are only when:

    • A goalkeeper is injured
    • A goalkeeper and an outfield player have collided and need attention
    • Players from the same team have collided and need attention
    • A severe injury has occurred
    • A player is injured as the result of a physical offence for which the opponent is cautioned or sent off (e.g. Reckless or serious foul challenge), if the assessment/treatment is completed quickly

Last bullet point applied during Leeds game.

    This makes perfect sense.

There was one occasion today though where their guy was down and the ref blew well after. It seemed lime he did so because he thought it was a head injury.
Trainer came on, no booking and rightly so, the ref let the player carry on.
I mentioned in earlier thread about the red being too passive. I think he was blockup!
