Could be a strange World Cup in Russia

I believe that the World Cup is about having the best teams deciding who is the best team in the world. If that’s elitist, then I’m guilty as charged.

If it’s some kind of celebratory jamboree of football then I’m sorry, that’s just not my cup of tea.

This should be about the best of the best, not the best and the least bad.

The best teams do get there as they've qualified. My heart bleeds (not) for the likes of Argentina and Italy if they fail to get there.
I remember a few of the elite teams moaning about Euro 16 as 24 teams got there and the usual patronising crap about the little teams suffocating the big teams
