Channel Five's PC announcement before the Andrew Selby fight

Announcer warned viewers 'There may be some violence and flashing lights'.

What might they have said before the Chris Eubank - Michael Watson fight, for example?

(if they were around at the time)

Boxing today would never stomach a fight like that again

Is it me, or does boxing at flyweight require zero skill or power whatsoever these days?? Selby allowed a decent Mexican guy to punch him repeatedly in the face and nothing actually affected him. He leant in with arms behind his back, and the Mexican lad punched him to no effect. Mexican lad put his head down by Selby's bollocks and swung like a drunk from Merthyr, throughout.

An embarrassment to the weight division, the both of them.

Swing like a drink from Merthyr? Like Howard Winstone, former world champion?

I'm not that into boxing, but I don't get how a seven stone bloke can KO a fit opponent. But it obviously happens. Both had stopped about half their opponents, but neither looked like stopping the other that night.

Me and the missus concluded that both of them were very, very thick.

Jimmy Wilde was a flyweight and he knocked out 99 opponents in his pro career. Mind you he was capable of knocking out 15 stone blokes hence his reputation as, pound for pound, the third hardest puncher in history.

    Blimey!

His fights should have come with a warning of violence!
