Thread: Wales / England

    Wales / England

Reading this article I realised one thing, a good number of Welsh people say similar also.
'They won't speak English in a bar' 'The National Assembly is a waste, we are all British' 'Schools, we all speak English anyway' etc etc
I'm an outsider, but I have heard this often.

    Re: Wales / England

Was seeing a Welsh speaker at time of the vote for devolution , she was sex mad but that's another story , anyway the day of the vote I went down and voted yes , something I now regret , the Welsh language , thankfully , will never die but we are pandering to the raffia , all this sending out forms in Welsh and English is a complete waste of money , I like to hear Welsh being spoken in front of me , it's a beautiful language even though I don't speak it myself

Talking of her the day of the vote for de volution I went to vote and she went shopping with her Welsh speaking grandmother who she got home , I asked my bint did she vote she said she couldn't be arsed!!!

    Re: Wales / England

"Nobody in all England lives further than 100 miles from a Welsh border, yet the public ignorance of the English about this intimate and ultimate neighbour is sad to contemplate."

On this basis if you live in Great Yarmouth you would hit the Welsh border somewhere in Northamptonshire!
