    From Grangetown. Live in the vale now. Can't actually say I've ever said it, but when I've seen it on road signs that's how I've imagined it's pronounced!

    I always laugh at the English attempts to pronounce Welsh town names when I make orders in work. They really struggle with Dd and Ll

    Tonyrefail and tonypandy are good ones, kardaffians struggle with Welsh names nevermind the English

    True, I'm afraid. There has been a movement within the education system in France in recent years to eradicate the use of foreign words, particularly English.

    I always thought that Splott was pronounced as it is written.
    But some people are trying to gentrify the place. Apparently, it is now pronounced "Splow".
