    Interesting take on it .
But even considering that article, at the least , he should have been sacked if porn was found on his PC.
Like everyone else working in any level of Gov. / Civil Service would.

It is almost certainly true and seems to have been covered up. I don't really care about a man looking at some naked ladies, this stinks of corruption though and we are looking at a guy who will now likely get away with something that each once of us would be fired for.

Interesting article - Hard to disagree with the general thrust of it

    Hadn't seen this before:

"One of them, though he had been ordered to destroy the seized computer archive, copied it and has since revealed its pornographic contents to the media."

Completely. I don't care that he looked at porn. I just think the same rules should apply. Maybe If he wasn't in the frame for pestering he would just accept it. Maybe he's worried that people will think he looks at porn so he's a bit handsy as it were. I wouldn't draw that conclusion I just saying it might cloud his thinking.

This case is comparable to the current Clinton/Obama administration situation. It's not about politics, it's about corruption and a lack of accountability. It's one man versus the system, and it's about time everybody woke up.

It's standard operating procedure, ask Jimmy Savile!

IF there was evidence that the MP concerned had tried to get the Police or anyone else to cover it up - then obviously there would be a case to answer. The story so far though means there is / was corruption at the Met (again).

On to the MP - lads - the Law and the courts - they are not a court of Opinion nor is a court of morals - IT is a court of LAW - and if any laws have been broken then the evidence is submitted - cross examined and a jury makes their decision.

Anyone who says there is absolute proof etc - is talking bollox. There are many many ways the log files on a windows PC can be altered, there are many ways in which browsing history can be altered - either by someone else remotely, by an automated malicious script. If I was defending I would want to see the PC in the state it was in when found, what security patches had been applied, I would want exact dates and times of alleged use - and I would cross reference that with Parliamentary activities. I would also want to see the firewall history that should be in place on the Govt network.

Did he ever leave his PC unlocked ? .

The ex cop must know he has no case whatsoever - as he or someone wouldnt have leaked all these details 9 years later. I suspect (and I maybe wrong) the only details he has are his hand written notes.

So if the same ex cop writes down on a piece of paper that Bob Wilson is a secret cross dresser, after meeting him once at his house - would you believe him ? - I think not - and neither would a court of law.

They need to produce much stronger evidence than this. Same as they for all digital evidence cases.

Makes for a nice story though, love a bit of political scandal me. When someone videoed that member of the house of Lords dressed up in a bra smoking a joint - now that is evidence

    Is this a deflection post?

If that was any public employee they would have been suspended immediately.
Society has become that precious, that a Geezer can get hounded by the press for his heinous crime of looking at a bit of tit and fanny, what a waste of time and money.

I think it has always been considered a no-no to look at porn in work.

Possibly the higher up the tree you go, the better example you are expected to set, and the ramifications increase, possible blackmail, possible errors of judgement, loss of gravitas, loss of public trust - etc etc etc etc

But you already know these things.

Of course it's a no no but does the guy have to suffer the BBC and Co. spending £1,000's and hours and hours on it ? will they be happy when another male has committed suicide ?

He is a very high profile figure I suppose.

Shall we stop looking into all poor behaviour - or worse behaviour- in case the accused or guilty decides to threaten to kill themselves?
    That will work well...

I'd rather the BBC spend their money and resources focusing the inadequate funding of the NHS, the poor country infrastructure, poverty stricken areas of the UK, care of the elderly and a host of other important issues, the police can deal with the MP and his dirty books.

I agree with the better avenues of expenditure,

It is not a criminal offence to look at 'non abusive , non child, non bestial' porn. Looking at 'regualar' porn - in work, on work devices, is an employment code breach.

The employer is Whitehall / Govt.

    He is Deputy Minister.

Sums Theresa's position up doesn't it? We have reached the point where even her best mates are giving her shit and pushing her around.

Bit dramatic from you. I actually agree with your first post. It is the reason why I think it's true, because he's a guy and we all look at porn, who gives a shit. The only problem is, I would be sacked for doing it on a work computer and he won't be. Britain is the land of double standards.

Agree with this. They did a week on BBC Breakfast telling us about all the families who aren't getting the provision needed for their children with special educational needs. On Friday they finally manage to mention money. The whole story is about money and nothing else, schools contain some of the most dedicated people in the land and councils are falling over themselves and Cameron's red tape trying to help these children but unfortunately you can't offer 1-1 help without some money. BBC dodging the issues isn't new.

People who are paid out of the public purse are working for us and are answerable to us. How did we get to a point where there are two different sets of rules in play? This is exactly what is playing out in America right now, and people would be well advised not to view these developments through a political lens.

Yeah it was probably that malware that sends work emails for you. I'd love to get infected with that one.

If it was any of those things that you mention, don't you think they would have found out at the time?
