The point was made that when three or four City forwards pressed high up the pitch, the defenders were back in their own half which left a big hole in midfield. Once it had been mentioned, it was glaringly obvious what was going on - and Reading just passed their way into the yawning gap.

Without Bryson, City's midfield was often noticeable by its absence and was often over-run. No wonder Warlock doesn't play Tomlin who for all his attributes is not exactly an all-action man.
