There a number of reason why inflation effects the economy from higher wages , pension deficit, borrowing , uncertainty ,over demand ,greed ,poor management , poor investment , war , purchase of raw materials as they become scarce , inflated imported goods,disposable income ,oil prices rises , gas prices , and the those evil bankers and politicians ,oh and 28% pay increases

I did very well out of the 70's inflation. Big pay rises , value of house shot up , good return on savings.

Austerity and low interest rates have been a pile of shit by contrast.
