What a squad. What a team

Despite injuries the guys on the pitch just keep delivering.
    The togetherness must be awesome.
They deserve to be top soon.

Good luck over the next two weeks to everyone at the club.

I worry that the train is due to hit the buffers with our dreadful injury list.

The squad has been really really tested already and has past the test with flying colours. Though shame our away colours make us look like stewards!

Neil saw sense so quickly, squeezing out players who were not masters of their roles. He's brought in specialists for each position. In the few places where we don't have two of those specialists in each position, I'm sure we'll look to cover in Jan.

I wasn't so bothered about centre mid, but with Gunnar out, the gap there is more obvious. I had hoped Damour might be able to understudy for defensive midfield, but I've seen enough of him now to see that he isn't a DM. To be harsh, while he does have good assets like ball carrying and intricate passing in tight spaces, I don't think he's a starter for an auto chasing team as he is just too anonymous. Very good squad player for us though. Left back cover may be an ideal that we ignore to prioritise for DM and another winger.

Apparently Neil may look for a loan striker too, depending on absentees...

Yeah I'd go along with that about Damour. When I first saw him I was really positive about him being a defensive midfielder but he doesn't seem to have the football IQ to sense danger or plug holes.

Warnock has got his job cut out in January with our budget cos everyone will know that given our position we may be in a position where we can't not afford to gamble.

The danger is that cos we're in the position we're in we may have look at ready made players rather than wild cards like Mendez-Laing and Damour.

Our league position could actually help us out in the Jan window perhaps. We can offer clubs realistic promotion bonuses on top of transfer fees, thereby deferring the costs and making it work for FFP. Neil has also just said we may have to look to loans with options to buy also. My guess is we'll only be looking at those kind of deals as well as players who's contracts expire in the summer.

I like Warnock's general hesitancy toward loans. There is less incentive for the given player to do well and say gain promotions. From the club's point of view, it's obviously better to nurture your own assets. A lot of managers at Neil's age, with one eye on retirement, wouldn't be the same.

DM may have to be a ready made player and from the way Neil is talking, same for a striker. Think the winger could be a wildcard signing perhaps though as Kadeem won't be far off.
