FT: CARDIFF CITY 1 - 0 HULL CITY. Match thread

Both sides have a number of injuries

C:WindowsTempphp5E7F.tmpCardiff have a mounting injury list for Hull's visit in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday. The game at CCS is live on Sky ko 5:30pm

Danny Ward has been booked in for a knee operation and Sean Morrison has been ruled out by the groin injury he suffered in the 2-2 draw at Reading on Monday.

Aron Gunnarsson, Craig Bryson and Anthony Pilkington are also major doubts.

But Cardiff are hopeful that Omar Bogle will shrug off a calf problem to lead the attack in the absence of Ward and Kenneth Zohore.

There are doubts over a number of Hull players ahead of the contest.

It remains to be seen what involvement, if any, there is for David Meyler and Max Clark, who both came off in last Saturday's 3-2 win over Brentford.

Question marks also hang over Jarrod Bowen, Markus Henriksen, Kevin Stewart and Michael Hector.

All four sat out the clash with the Bees, which was Hull's first match under new boss Nigel Adkins.

    Match stats:

    • Cardiff have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last eight league matches against Hull (W1 D2 L5).

    • Hull have won their last three league games against Cardiff by an aggregate score of 8-0 - they won most recently 2-0 at the KC Stadium in January 2016.

    • Neil Warnock has collected three points from a possible 24 in his last eight league meetings with Hull (P8 W0 D3 L5), facing them with four different clubs in that time (QPR, Crystal Palace, Leeds and Rotherham).

    • Since joining the club in January 2017, no Hull City player has been involved in as many league goals as Kamil Grosicki (13 - six goals, seven assists).

    • Hull have lost nine points to goals conceded in the last five minutes of Championship games this season - five more than any other side. Cardiff, meanwhile have won four points from goals scored in the final five minutes with only Bristol City and Ipswich winning more (5).

    • Nigel Adkins hasn't faced Neil Warnock since October 2012, when his Southampton side faced Warnock's Leeds in the League Cup at Elland Road - Leeds won 3-0.

    Match officials:

    Referee: SCOTT DUNCAN
Assistants: Adam Crysell and Mark Pottage

Not the best record under this ref BUT, and it’s a big BUT, he reffed the Wolves City game earlier in the season.

Fecking hell Warnock must be desperate P Pilks starting and Healey on bench after an hours football.

Healey on bench you can understand... give him a few minutes possibly, get real match experience. Bogle is carrying a knock isn't he?

Pilkington up front though... eh... got to be due to a lack of fit bodies. That's the only possible reason I can think of. Must have been tempting to have played Paterson there though.

    Perhaps we are desperate.
Who could have dreamed this amount of knocks?

Or perhaps he is being canny. He's done this managing stuff before ;)

You might want to put a bet on him missing several one on ones to cover yourself.

Let’s hope Pilks puts on a show for potential buyers in the coming transfer window.

Gotta turn pressure into goals, very pretty around the 18 yd box but toothless inside it. Rhys for Pilks?

Hes a class above but he is so out of shape. He needs to sort himself out or he'll be back in league 1.

Shockingly unfit, he's looking knackered every time he moves. Shame, because on the ball he is really good, and can unlock defences.

But, back to the original point - shockingly and unforgivably unfit.

    Manga has been quality

Re: CARDIFF CITY v HULL CITY. Match thread

Tomlin was quality. Not that unfit, just lacking in game time. What a result though.

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day you gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I'll give it to Sol Bamba

Top quality 3 points a very tough game, wurzells putting the pressure on earlier in the day, squad ravished with injury, a clearly unfit Tomlin getting 80 mins excellent result.
