It might be interesting to note that this season we've scored 6 equalisers and lost the lead twice. In 2012/13, we scored 8 equalisers all season and lost the lead 11 times.

While these are just a few stats which hardly paints the whole picture, these are some I found more interesting. In short, it would be difficult to argue that the side of 2012/13 is a better side than the current one. If we can get 2 wins from the next 3 we'll have matched our best run from that season.

In 2012/13 we got 47 points from our first half of the season and 40 points from the second. If we are able to match the points we've won so far for the remainder we'll end up with 98 points. To end up with the same points total as 5 seasons ago needs 1.67 points a game until May. We're currently averaging 2.14.

In 12/13 we had effectively won the league by now (more or less), so far ahead that it didn't matter that we collapsed in the run-in.
The league is much harder/closer this time - no collapses, please!

It was our form over the Christmas period that got us promoted under Malky as it made a gap between us and our rivals. I went to Birmingham and Joe Mason scored in one of the most boring games I've ever witnessed.

Yep stats are looking good. I do believe that the Xmas period is make or break. I worry our injuries will start to take a toll, hopefully we can get through it.

Is it the case that we’ve gotten better or the teams around us are getting worse? Hull seemed pretty toothless to be honest

We have lost quality players such as Zohore and Gunnarsson but their replacements have kept us in the race. The likes of Damour, Laing and Bogle have been a revelation considering the leagues they were playing in last season.

12/13 was the second lowest points tally for Champions of this division. I can't remember who got less but it was a few seasons before ours.

This year will be 95 or more for the Champions and 85-90 for second, at least we are well on track.
