There will be no Christmas excess for Cardiff City's players this year. With four matches in 10 days, a threadbare Bluebirds squad — already decimated by injuries — must negotiate the season's most frantic period.

More importantly they must keep pace with Wolves, while maintaining the distance between themselves and the chasing pack.

How many options Neil Warnock has to rotate his squad, however, remains to be seen: Cardiff travel to Bolton, then back to the Welsh capital for two matches against Fulham and Preston, before a New Year's Day clash at Queens Park Rangers. The schedule doesn't relent.

And while Warnock has the experience to help his players over those hurdles, he has some big decisions to make if Cardiff can maintain their excellent form throughout the festive fixtures...
