    Premier League = Boring?

Along with the top leagues in Spain, Germany, maybe France and Scotland.

Looks as though Man City, Barca, PSG et al will dominate for a long time yet due to their ability to sign players no matter what price.

Perhaps its time for a European super league where each team plays each other four times.

    Man City +1
    Bayern +1
    Juve +1
    Barca +1
    PSG +1

Promotion into and relegation from super league.

Probably many arguments for and against.

Man City, PSG and Barca are not even the reigning champions of their league?!?!?

The French League has had something like 7 different winners in 10 years

Formation of super league based on future performance in domestic leagues.

Teams quoted in OP likely to be champions for a sustained period given their spending power.

Maybe an incentive to win the domestic league.

Certain countries would not really be able to contribute in the short term eg Scotland.

It wont have 7 winners in the next 10 years.

I just watched Man City v Newcastle , it was pretty dreadful on the whole. Attack v defence.

Munich, and maybe PSG aside you can’t say the other 3 are going to dominate their leagues for years to come. Man City’s owners have been in charge 10 years. They are on course to win their 3rd league in that time. That’s not dominating like the United of the 90s. Chelsea have money, so do United.

At the half way stage any one of 4 teams can win Series A.

Madrid have plenty of money and are current league Champions, plus won the Champs League 3 our of last 4 so I don’t know how you can say Barca will dominate domestically for years to come?

If there is ever a European super league there will be more than 2 teams from England. The global support for English clubs will dictate that.

Newcastle are not contenders though. I watched Arsenal v Liverpool last Friday and it was a great advert for the Premier League.

It would be great if it was Arsenal v Liverpool every week .

Unfortunately we have watch Stoke , WBA and Newcastle occasionally not to mention the Jacks etc..

Perhaps they should split it in half like they used to do in Scotland? So the big teams each other 3 times instead of twice?

I still think with the big 6 the Premier League has more big, competitive games than any of the other leagues mentioned.

Man City are having an amazing season no question but it’s up to the rest to improve and catch up same as teams had to when other teams were the top dogs.

Not only that, but Man City will dip at some point.

Arsenal went a whole season unbeaten, then lost at Old Trafford and went to pieces.

Perhaps their dip was needing late goals to beat Southampton and West Ham recently
