Thread: FT: CARDIFF 0 - 1 PRESTON. Match thread

Re: CARDIFF v PRESTON. Match thread

Hands up (again) who knew that was coming.
    I pretended that I didn't, but ...

Perhaps, given what Mehmet recently said, consistent success (and its inevitable outcome) was never expected / meant to be this season.
The mystery of 'why exactly - what happened?' WTF. It is a mystery. Or is it?

A tiny improvement on our last two displays. But still poor.

    What a shit week.

3 losses in a row is kind of unacceptable.

A truly horrible game of football

Just watched the worst game of football this season.
Both sides looked like mid table division 2 teams.

If we are serious about a play off place for the Premiership, then we must wake up from this stupid dream and start to play football, not hoofball....

Losses happen - even three in a row, but sudden apparent collapse of confidence and ability and rapid descent to dreary-ness?
    That requires some explanation.

My hunch - summat is up, or summat has been said.

Carrying too many passengers at the moment

Feeney, NML, Zohore and Damour were non existent.

Ralls around a lot but kept giving the ball away.

    Peltier was shite.

Couldn’t get Tomlin into the game at all. Got into his feet just twice I think.

But for Bamba and Manga that could have been worse.

How can all these players become "passengers"?
Most were previously impressive. Before the clocks went back ..

No surprise at all at the result tonight having witnessed the Fulham game on Boxing Day. I came away from that thinking, as my friend in Essex would say, "promotion - you're having a laugh ain't ya"

How Lee Peltier is earning money as a footballer is baffling

Thank **** I didn't come home for Christmas. I would be GUTTED. I'm gutted now. This has ruined the holidays.

At least I'll always have the Villa game. That was sublime. They better sort it out by Bolton.

Been around for loads of Christmases with shite performances and poor results. Usually not expecting much else tbh. Was hoping for better this year but The City can always kick you in the nads. Misery. No other way of dressing it up.

What will the Ref have done to conjure that up, this time?

Tomlin was on the ball plenty. Did nothing with it.

Nonsense. Had it in space about 3 times. Set up a chance for Zohore and also got pulled back for a yellow card.

Rest of the time just hooded over his head.

I think our passing has killed us in the last two games. I lost count of the number of aimless balls launched forward by our defenders and Bamba was the worst culprit.

Warnock should tell him straight, stop trying 50 yard Hollywood passes cos you can't pass for shit.

    Nonsense.

Spent more time looking at ref for perceived fouls.

As Warnock admitted after game, only two fit midfielders.

A draw tonight would have been fair. So would a draw at Bolton.

But this is grim watching. Some spark or belief is missing.

Good or even just effective players don't become bad in a week. Other clubs (including Preston) have had blips and bounced back. We don't need majority possession - we just need to play with power, pace, a few tricks, and confidence.

At least Ken got another 80 odd minutes. Now we need NML, Hoilett, Ralls and Damour to refind their best form. And Mozzer to come back (and Jazz and Bennett).

Anyway, I'm off to sulk for a few days. Happy New Year!

I fell asleep sat in the canton stand during the second half, that's how bad it was.
