We turned up what we thought was early that Sunday morning, only to find thousands queuing. Then we found out that you could sneak in by the railway tracks in through the back of the bob bank and into the back of the Canton turnstiles where we said we forgot and needed some more tickets. In and out in ten minutes. Best blag ever.
The draw for the 4th round of the FA Cup has given Mansfield and Cardiff the incentive to win next weeks replay at Field Mill.
The reward will be a home 4th round tie against Manchester City.
The Bluebirds last faced Man City in 2013 when the visitors to CCS were shocked by the Premier League newcomers. Aron Gunnarsson and Frazier Campbell (2) scored the goals in a 3 - 2 Cardiff victory.
Before that was a famous FA Cup win over Man City at Ninian Park in 1994 with Nathan Blake scoring the winner (see below).
Full FA Cup draw:
Liverpool v West Brom Peterborough v Fleetwood or Leicester Huddersfield v Birmingham Notts County v Wolves or Swansea Yeovil Town v Manchester Utd Carlisle or Sheff Weds v Stevenage or Reading Cardiff or Mansfield v Manchester City MK Dons v Coventry City Millwall v Rochdale Southampton v Watford Middlesbrough v Brighton or Palace Bournemouth or Wigan v Shrewsbury or West Ham Hull v Nottingham Forest Newport v Tottenham Norwich or Chelsea v Newcastle Sheff Utd v Preston
After those who suffered the Mansfield game hopefully. IF we get through... etc etc
Edit - as suggested above like.
I think Warnock needs to threaten and bully to get the players to wake up.
A home sell out to Man City beckons but in true City style I fear we will lose the replay by the odd goal - just because the Mansfield players will probably want it more ...

I think the away allocation is 15% isn’t it? That would be around 5,000 for them, moving the families to the Ninian upper. I’d be really surprised if we couldn’t get at least close to a sell out.
Re: Manchester City the reward for Cardiff or Mansfield
Hope Mansfield win don't want to subject these Premiership wanbabies to
humaltion, another defeat again , look at what happened last time , Blake scores yer lost in the wilderness for years , same for Leeds ,it's a curse I tell you ,it's a curse upon yer all, don't you top of the tabblers types come to Cardiff, wiv her posh socks and cravets.
Re: FA Cup 4th round draw- Cardiff or Mansfield v Manchester City
I'm just hoping the draw might be enough to tip the balance in terms of January signings plumping for us over anyone else. Preferably sorted out before we play Mansfield again...

We need something to get the team going again. This draw could be it.
Of course, if the players are excited and then lose against Mansfield it will have the opposite effect.
Re: FA Cup 4th round draw- Cardiff or Mansfield v Manchester City
-Season ticket holders who went to the Mansfield game (Their seat + 1 other ticket)
-Season ticket holders (their seat)
-Non season ticket holders (but went to Mansfield)
-General sale

If we beat Mansfield (a big IF too, as it's away) then I fear the object will be to minimise the humiliation by limiting Man City's winning margin to low single figures. Hope I'm wrong of course.
