Madine and Grabban remain rumoured targets

With some media outlets claiming City have had a seven figure sum for Gary Madine turned down by Bolton

C:WindowsTempphpDC7F.tmpBournemouth striker Lewis Grabban and Bolton striker Gary Madine continue to lead the way as the latest rumoured players interesting Cardiff City.

The club have said nothing so it's left to the media to speculate and throw a few names around.

Grabban was on loan at Sunderland, who Cardiff face this weekend, but he returned to Bournemouth after cutting short his loan spell despite scoring 12 goals in 19 league appearances this season.

He is also linked with Wolves.

Madine is Bolton's top scorer and scored against Cardiff just before Christmas as struggling Bolton beat City at the start of a four match losing streak.

It's reported that Cardiff have had a bid turned down by Bolton.

WalesOnline spent two days relentlessly linking Fleetwood left back Amari’i Bell with a Cardiff City move before deciding in the end he's not likely to come to south Wales. Again no basis in fact it appears with both clubs making no comment.

Another defender linked is Preston North End’s Greg Cunningham. But that also seems to be a nod and a wink rather than a solid lead.

Neil Warnock hopes to have a player or two in before the game on Saturday v Sundarland (12:30pm live on Sky).

"We might have one in, I'd like to think we can get two in," he told BBC Wales Sport.

"In the transfer window it's amazing how long these things take. It's not an ideal scenario getting players in January - I might not have anyone in.

"I'm looking for strikers, players who can play in the Championship and will consider anyone we think we can do a job."

Does all this talk of possible incoming strikers suggest that ‘Our Ken’ is going to leave us soon?

Where's my quality midfielder? You know the one you have been after for ages. The one nobody knows about. Eh? The suspense is killing me. 😃
