Chelsea's billion pound stadium in jeopardy...

Bet Mr Abramovich isn't too happy, I suspect he's used to getting his own way.

Same issue explains the silly end at the Aviva in Dublin.

Why buy a house near a football stadium in the first case ?

Ground development is always a possibility.

Me sees a couple of heart attacks and a car crash coming up for that family.

Why should people have to move because a stadium wants to expand?

The story says their family has been there 50 years.

Lets be fair who in their right minds would want to live that close to Chelsea ?

Probably hoping to tap into mega compo from Mr.A. but the Ruskies are playing hard ball
so lets get on the media to crank it up a bit.

    Yep.

I'd take the money and run.

It appears they’ve already been offered a 6 figure sum to put up with the lack of natural light.
I’d bite RA’s hand off, and ask him to chuck in one of the floodlights from the old stadium.
    Win win!!

Chelsea were doing fine by the standards of the day 50 years ago. Big crowds and a team with plenty of internationals.

More aggro around back then too.

Have you tried living in a house which never gets any direct sunlight? It's bloody miserable. They'd lose far more than 6 figures off the value of their house. I think Chelsea should offer them 50% above the market value for their house prior to the stadium redevelopment and buy their house from them. This would give them enough money to move to somewhere comparable and some compensation for the upheaval.

Exactly. It's as relevant as the length of time the family has lived in the house.
