Passes per game Vs league position

Our current season highlighted there. A definite outlier.

To me this really shows that our playing style has taken the direct, counter attacking anti-posession to the next level. Other teams do it to an extent, but none as extreme, or as successfully as us.

An alternative interpretation would be that we've been lucky and this run is unsustainable. But I don't buy that.

At our best we are very good at what we do. It's not luck. We can be devastating in the final third, and that's what counts.

But we aren't the only direct team in the last 3 seasons. There are other Warnock teams in there even, why are we so different?

Because we have the players to make the system effective.
