FT: MANSFIELD 1 - 4 CARDIFF CITY. Match thread

C:WindowsTempphpF423.tmpMansfield Town manager Steve Evans has called on the club's supporters to turn the One Call Stadium into a cauldron of noise for the FA Cup third-round replay with Cardiff City on Tuesday night.

The two sides fought out a goalless draw in the first meeting at the Cardiff City Stadium 10 days ago and there is a huge prize awaiting the winners with a home tie against runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City.

"We're going to be backed by a fantastic support, as we normally are here at the One Call Stadium," said Evans, whose team currently sit seventh in League Two after Saturday's goalless draw at Cambridge United.

"I think it's going to be the best attendance in the home end for any game this season so that's a fantastic response from the Mansfield public.

"Come on - if your granny's not been out for a while, bring her here. I'm sure she's got Mansfield right through the middle of her, or [bring] your grandad.

"Let's have a sell-out in the home end. Let's make sure there's not a spare seat in the home end. Let the kids have a late day to school. Not because we need 200 tickets sold, but because we need the stadium rocking and rolling.

"Every throw-in, every decision, let's appeal for it, let's contest it, not just myself and the assistant manager. Let's have everybody behind the team, trying to get a positive result."

Cardiff, meanwhile, head into the clash on the back of a convincing 4-0 victory at home to struggling Sunderland in the Championship, a result that leaves Neil Warnock's team third in the table.

Yanic Wildschut is cup tied so cannot be involved tonight.

    Opta stats

The Bluebirds will be visiting Mansfield for the first time since October 2002, when the Welsh side won 1-0 in third tier league game.

Mansfield have lost eight of their last nine FA Cup replays against teams from a higher division (W1), including each of the last four.

Cardiff have lost five of their last six FA Cup Third Round replays, with the only win in that run coming in January 2010 against Bristol City.

The Stags haven't won a FA Cup home match against a side from the second tier since January 1969, when they beat Sheffield United 2-1.

Totally agree. Wouldnt mind giving extra time a swerve as well if possible. Not easy.

I reckon it'll be Paterson behind Ken. Pilks on the one wing with Hoilett on the other.

Crap conditions for football it looks like so it'll be a lottery tonight. Let's hope the luck goes our way...

    This could be it.

Let's see how it goes, but I'm not against that team in the current situation.

Have it as a 4231 on the club app (not that this means a thing)

    Ralls Patterson

    Pilks damour hoilett

    Zohore

Although after Saturday I think it's more likely we stuck with a 442 variation.

I await 9.35pm result with baited breath to see how much you actually know. The ground holds 9136 by the way with home areas 'nearly sold out', so better research seems appropriate. Why do you insist on posting and giving everyone a Geography lesson at the same time - bit pretetious isnt it ?.
