Permission has already been granted for ordinary house members to view the documents in a secure setting, who can then vote to make the information available to the public.

Don't be so naive. It's the report emanating from this bit of moonlighting by Nunes and a few mates.

GOP lawmakers demand that 'alarming' memo on FISA abuses be made public

Several Republican members of Congress are reacting with shock and alarm after reading a “disturbing” four-page memo given to lawmakers on Thursday that details government surveillance abuses.

Speaking with Fox News on Thursday, the lawmakers said they could not yet discuss the contents, but thought the memo should be immediately made public.

“It is so alarming, the American people have to see it,” Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan said.

“It's troubling. It's shocking,” North Carolina Rep. Mark Meadows said. “Part of me wishes I didn't read it. I don’t want to believe that those kinds of things are happening in this country that I love so much.”

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz said he believed people could lose their jobs after the memo is released.

“I believe the consequence of its release will be major changes in people currently working at the FBI and the Department of Justice,” he said, referencing DOJ officials Rod Rosenstein and Bruce Ohr.

“You think about, ‘is this happening in America or is this the KGB?’ That's how alarming it is,” Pennsylvania Rep. Scott Perry said.

A Bombshell House Intelligence report exposing extensive FISA abuse could lead to the removal of senior government officials

A review of a classified document outlining what is described as extensive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse was made available to all House members Thursday and the revelations could lead to the removal of senior officials in the FBI and Department of Justice, several sources with knowledge of the document stated. These sources say the report is “explosive,” stating they would not be surprised if it leads to the end of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation into President Trump and his associates.

Congressional officials expect the classified memo to be made available to the public before the end of the month. In order to make the classified memo public, the House Intelligence Committee, chaired by California Republican Devin Nunes, must first have another vote, a congressional source stated.

The vote is expected to happen and then the classified memo will be given to “POTUS for five days” so he can review it, the source stated. If POTUS objects to releasing the memo it will then go to the full House for a vote, they added.

There was an item on BBC radio over the weekend about American businesses starting to boom. One owner said that his company was growing and jobs were being created thanks to the cutting of regulations. He wasn't particularly a Trump supporter but he was grateful for less regulation.

Sounds great in isolation but it depends what the regulations are and why they were introduced. Environmental regulations are the first that come to mind; Trump has done a lot to roll back climate change and pollution policies - is this a long term benefit for the US and the globe?

Just a glance through this is pretty worrying.

In short, he is being attacked by the globalist establishment for reversing their globalist policies, and also for revealing the alleged corruption and criminality in the Obama administration. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out. What is facinating is that only a few media organisation are covering this, while the rest (CNN, WAPO, NYT, etc) are trying to frame it as some kind of conspiracy. I think we have come to the point now where the truth really has to be revealed, whatever it may be.

I haven't seen the underlying intelligence myself and much as I like Devin I would like my confidence confirmed by some prima facia evidence.

My rule of thumb is usually to watch what Ryan does on these type of things. If he believes things have legs he will jump on board and look for some credit and help manage. On this when pressed on release by Republicans he referred it back to Nunes to determine how to proceed so he has no fingerprints at the moment if it fizzles and disappoints.

19 congressional days runs to mid-March so I guess this jaw-dropping watergate topping expose will just have to remain regularly hinted at until then. Unless of course Donny succumbs to Don Jrs 40 odd tweets and Hannity's rants to #releasethememo and uses his executive priviledge in the national interest to declassify and release immediately. Then again he might prefer the noise it has created to any facts that ultimately come out.
