If you stay in the north you could try Sappa or Halong Bay or go west towards the Thai border to Diem Bien Phu
In the centre try Hue. You can travel to Phong Nha Ke Ban where kong skull island was filmed

Way down south Phu Quoc is lovely

Football generally is not good but the supporters are wild
