Stunning achievement - and landing the boosters was perhaps the most amazing part. Hope the core got down safely too...

There is a live stream of a dummy in a car orbiting the earth, completely surreal

If you are over in the area when one launches, do it, you will not regret it, even if they pull the launch, KSC is a great day out

As i said above, we watched a Atlas 5 rocket ( now i know its not the biggest, i know its not the shuttle, but it didnt matter, it was a rocket going into space ) launch at KSC a few years back, got up to the viewing area early to get seats ( now that was hot, they do not have any shade, so you are sat in the midday sun for 2 hours ) they pipe in the checks over the speakers from T minus 20 minuets, the build up is great, real seat of your pants stuff, as you know, anyone of them checks come back as a no and its called off

My youngest loved it, really opened her eyes in the terms of engineering and what you can achieve if you try, 4 years on and she still has the bug, she was sat ( well bouncing with excitement ) on a chair infront of the TV tonight watching the stream with her ipad recording it from the TV ( of course it didnt matter that i said it will be on youtube in HD in 10 mins, she was part of it )

    Re: Space X launch delayed

Getting a bit deep, but I believe Space exploration is not just important but essential for sorting ourselves out.
Humans need something to strive towards, we are adventurous and endeavour by our very nature, we have explored every corner of our planet, and while our basic instincts our now fulfilled with material wealth 'capitalism' this will not last much longer. I feel the idea that creating wealth is an important part of life is failing, the marketplace has already seen trends this century from material spending to experience spending.

With the days of the Great Wars seemingly over (we hope), and to keep it that way humanity need a new focus.

the trickle down affect from space exploration would be huge, and when the possibilities of space start becoming a reality, trivial things like Borders, nationality, religious ideologies will fall into needlessness.

Perhaps it's just me, but the photos of the Spacex looked uncannily like the Disneyworld spires.....

The earth is flat and all this rocket stuff is bs.
