Soft penalties, diving, general physicality stripping of our beautiful game

Seems to be a hot topic recently.

As for diving, Wenger turning up the heat prior to the north London derby in his interview.
He didn't mention any names but I think he was alluding to Deli Ali and Harry Kane saying British players never used to dive but have now become "masters at it"

To coin the words of Kevin Keegan "I would loov it, loov it" if you could transplant the rules of yesteryear into the modern game, perhaps just for a weekend.

This popped up earlier, the days of "proper" football, Don Revie style ......

Its a cross we have to bear. Is diving any worse than shite players like Vinnie Jones kicking lumps out of players who were too good for them?

This raises and excellent point. At least in today's game there's nowhere for players that can't play to hide. Being hard and trying hard won't cut it at the top anymore. It won't even cut it in Football League.

I used to love the way Wimbledon took on the top sides and often beat them.

Gave a great twist to things.

Allowed a tiny club to compete with the money bags.

The way it's going there will be less and less chance of that

A lot of their players went on to have success at bigger clubs too.

Contender for post of the year and, coming from you, that's saying something.

The natural argument is that it's a man's game.

The obvious argument against that is that players should be free to express themselves and perform without being hacked down at every opportunity.

Would we rather watch a game dominated by skillful players who dive or hard tacklers who have no regard for safety?
