Thread: Kid / boy/ lad

  1. #1

    Kid / boy/ lad

Can posters please stop referring to 21-26 year olds (players) as kid etc.
Anyone would think they were 16 year olds.
Another thing, why refer to your sons as my boy? Do you call your daughters as girls? Your wives as woman?
As you can see, I've far too much time on my hands today.

Used to work on the rails.

Full of the Merthyr lot... They basically all call one another either "son" or "boy"

Dropped lads up there before, talking men in their 30s plus... got out the same spot and a load of kids under 10 walk up...one said "alright boy how was work"

Took a while to get used to that one did I tell you butt.

I don't think there's any problem with a 70 year old guy calling a 26 year old player a kid. He's old enough to be his grandfather.

If I was addressing you Louth I think mug or clown would be what I'd use

My dad when in his later life would be asked a question he didn’t no or didn’t want to answer would always say you’ll have to ask my boys he was 89 and me and my brother were 65 and 62 and my boys in turn are 38 and 36 and will always be my boys

    Re: Kid / boy/ lad

Does anyone address their son as "son"?

I have two daughters and I have never addressed them as "daughter".

    Just asking.

I find it best to grunt , nod and mumble ,they tend to wander away then and seek pastures new
