Thread: Peltier

    Peltier

Warnock says he's out for a month. That's a big loss, especially if Morrison is out too. With Manga back to his rightful place at centre back, we need Jazz fit to slot in at right back. I don't think it's Paterson's best position and I seem to be in the minority when it comes to Halford - although I can see his value as Warnock's trusted all-rounder and that he offers variation off the bench, I don't think he's a regular starter. Another option would be Cameron Coxe. Be great to see him given a run.

I think he'll go for one of Halford or Connolly, assuming that Jazz is out. He's been really unlucky, can't catch a break.

If Connolly gets up.to match fitness this could work.
I would much h rather him at RB than Bruno.

He played a full 90 last night. Fingers crossed he can stay fit for the run in.

If there’s one position we are fully loaded it’s right back. It’s not like we’ve lost Joe Ralls for a month. We will be ok.

I like Connolly but still think it's a square peg in a round hole. It's a specialist position, especially when up against the likes of Adama Traore. A bit risky admittedly, but I'd rather blood a youngster like Coxe who knows the position, than a defender more used to being the middle.

Connolly has played a fair bit at right back, he's not an inexperienced kid at that position.

Whilst i agree with the sentiment, I don’t like to see a right footed player play left back, Connolly is a very experienced campaigner and will not let us down. At this stage of the season I’d rather use Conollys experience than trying out a kid.

Every game is massive now, Connolly at worst will do OK. Coxe could crumble under the pressure. He also could flourish but that's a hell of a risk. I agree with you, Connolly is best bet.

I wouldn't like to see Connolly at LB, I think most are advocating him at RB.
If we don't get a specialist LB we will struggle as teams will exploit this weakness.

    Re: Peltier

I expect Bennett to return at left back Sunday, Bamba and Manga to be our centre back pairing and either Connolly or Paterson to be in the right back slot.

We’ve got 2 specialist left backs in Bennett and Traore, if both are out then there’s worse options than Connolly. He’s won promotion from this division 4 times. I got every faith in him.

    Re: Peltier

I'd have Paterson there if Jazz isn't fit. If Morrison is fit and Paterson is still out I'd keep Manga there.

There are two of us now . Probably 14,002 of us really.

I was thinking of Coxe at right back, with either Bennett or Traore at left back. Saying that, I'd prefer Connolly to Manga or Halford, if that was the choice. I've always thought that full back is the most under-rated position in football. Players in that position tend to go under the radar for the most part.

Yes! I'm sure he's a great bloke and a positive influence in the dressing room and on the training pitch, just that I'm a bit underwhelmed when he makes an appearance. Just doesn't do it for me.

Can’t say I know a lot about Coxe tbh.

If it’s RB you’re taking then pelts, Richards, Patterson, Connolly, and Manga can play there so I don’t see Coxe breaking into the team under Warnock, not at this stage of the season.

Same here but Warnock trusts him implicitly. He’s the epitome of a journeyman footballer but maybe at this stage of the season that’s not a bad thing.

Coxe for now, only because Peltier, Jazz and Patterson are injured. If they're fit then they start, no doubt. Just that at present, with those three out, I'd give Coxe a go at right back over Halford, Manga or Connolly.

    Re: Peltier

The last thing we need is an inexperienced defender. Connoly is a proven defender and would be my choice at right backk especially as he played for 90 mins yesterday so must be fit.

    This^^^^

As much as I’d like some local kids breaking through, now, with 13 games to go, is not the time to be expereminting, and taking risks.
