Thread: Just got back. Great result, shite game, poor performance.

Just got back. Great result, shite game, poor performance.

Hopefully Morrison Richards or Traore will be fit to replace Connolly .
Hopefully Warnock will decide that Damour, Bryson, Grujic are all better options than Halford.

Yup, I echo those sentiments too.

I disagree. Our team selection and tactics were our undoing.
Once again we were more intent on playing volley ball than football.

We were better than them regardless.

It was a toungue in cheek dig at the Worzels delusions .

Johnson said he picked a physical side to counter act us, so Warnock notched it up a level.

The pitch and wind made it a day for battlers and we won that hands down.

3 points are really all that matters right now

When you say 'undoing' what exactly do you mean - we won didn't we. Bearing in mind we had three first team players out (Morrison, Mendez-Laing and Wildshutt) and that illness was affecting a number of others, it was a dour but acceptable performance in cold/windy conditions. If you think we were playing 'volleyball', how would you describe what Bristol City were doing ?.

Indeed and delighted to have them.

Warnocks team selection and tactics were bloody spot on, that’s why we won the football match. I couldn’t care lesss about performances for the rest of the season as long as we keep winning that’s fine by me.

As I just said in the Halford thread. I would have loved to have known how we would have done if Grujic had played today. We were crying out for someone who could establish some control in the game but Warnock got it right cos we won. Bristol were even worse than us. It made for a dreadful spectacle and if you were a floating fan then you won't hurry back.

    Yes we won...just.

Yes a number of players are missing but not Grujic, Damour or Bryson. All ball players. Are ML and Wildschut injured?
We set out with Feeney. He almost did what he was there for which was to run at defenders and get crosses in.
But that,s difficult to do without the ball or when isolated.

Bristol were poor and they certainly squeezed us in midfield but then we had players more intent on heading it than trying to get the ball down and pass it.

Other than Bamba’s perfect pass to Harris, Feeney,s run and Hoilett, creative skills were few.

And of course the conditions and ref certainly didn’t help.

    Glad for the 3 points.
