Even though large tracts of the Championship and many old and famous clubs have fallen,or may fall into the grip of the Wolverhampton Wanderers and all the odious apparatus of Midlanders rule, we shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in Wolverhampton, we shall fight against Villa, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Etheridge, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight against Wurzels, we shall fight on Brentford’s snowy grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the Derby hills; we shall never surrender. And if, which I do not for a moment believe, this City or a large part of it were subjugated and failing, then our Vincent Tan beyond the seas, armed and guarded by our fans, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the brave new world of the Premiership, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the financial liberation of this old club.
