Thread: Club debt high - OK but what about the £ value of current squad

  1. #1

Club debt high - OK but what about the £ value of current squad

Morrison £5M - offer from Sheff Wed in summer
    Bamba £2M - at least
    Manga £5M
    Hoilett £3M
Gunnarson - worth £5M - OK leaving at the end of season if we don't go up
    Ralls £5M minimum
    Madine £5M
    Zahore £8M

The majority of the rest of squad would average £1M each = £15M

Valued at next to nothing on the books ( except Madine who will be at his transfer value less 1 years worth of depreciation in the next accounts)

Although some of those values are no doubt arguable.

Another one of the misleading things about company accounts.

We have a toolmaking business and the assets are depreciated on a straight line basis and are valued as almost worthless on the books even though they would probably have a market value of £2-300000k as this sort of stuff holds it's value well.

If the club for example agree a 3-4 year deal for Hoillet there's another £5m increase in value of our squad

Thinking about it, a good manager getting the absolute best out of his players adds a large amount to the value of the club. A crap manager where players are underachieving has the opposite effect.

Though if we get promoted our club will be worth a hell of a lot more than it is now thus rendering the debt as a much smaller percentage against the clubs worth.

Although of course our wage bills etc go up if we go up as well...

    I'd estimate nearer 50 million I think :

    Bamba is worth 6
    Holilet 5 million
    Zohore 10
    Morrison 8
    Manga 6
    Bennett 3
    Keeper 3
    Patterson 5
    Ralls 8
This all depends on the length of contracts

What's your point? So we can sell the entire squad for £53M? And then what?
