I don't know if will be playing tomorrow or which team he was in when one-on-one with Forde in the Cardiff goal came hurtling out and knocked him 6 feet in the air
Been looking for a clip of the event but can't find one.
Anyone?
Didn't Whitts score his first goal for us that night too?
Fantastic bit of skill on the byline with a quality finish.
Or was that Tranmere ?
Yes, I had to double check, but he'd scored against Barnsley and Coventry before that Preston game.
Interestingly, Whitts debut was in a limp 1-0 home defeat against Southend, coming on as a 52nd-minute substitute. Following that, he was a regular starter, where we won 3 on the trot in a run of winning 6 out of 9. The run rescued our season, having plunged from clear at the top to 8th and 10 points off the top before Whitts made his first start for us. When we beat Norwich in early March, we were back in the playoffs. 2 points from the last 9 games killed the season and we finished in the bottom half.
Was it as bad as 2 points from 9?!
Yes, sadly.
13 Mar Southampton (a) D 2-2
17 Mar Derby County (a) L 1-3
31 Mar Sunderland (h) L 0-1
07 Apr Sheffield Wednesday (h) L 1-2
09 Apr Burnley (a) L 0-2
14 Apr Stoke City (h) D 1-1
21 Apr Queens Park Rangers (a) L 0-1
28 Apr Hull City (h) L 0-1
06 May Ipswich Town (a) L 1-3
It was a shocking run of form. Our two points came from late equalisers. Not at any time in those 9 games did we even have the lead. We never even had form as poor as that in the Premier League, when Russell Slade took over or even under Paul Trollope's management. It was truly abysmal, made all the more shocking that we were 6th when we went to Southampton!
Yes cracking result and game
Yes
Cheers for the memory boost lads.
Yeah, I just assumed he scored, it was the trick I remembered though 👍
