    Snow in Sheffield

It is 3 or 4 inches deep and most of the buses are cancelled for now. Start the rain dances!

Can't do photos on here, but one of the boys sent a photo to me this morning, of the SNOW outside his hotel in Sheffield.

Looked ominous and it's still snowing by all accounts.

Sheffield have called off their academy meeting as well as not opening anything around Bramall Lane.

The snow has stopped where I am but the rain isn't due until early afternoon. It could well be OK by late afternoon - but will someone have to make a decision earlier in the day when later conditions won't be obvious?

Don't worry the EFL will be watching this one closely they won't want Warnock on their back again.

Traffic England webcams show main approach roads to Sheffield as being clear except one coming in from the west which is closed due to snow. Temperatures are warming up. Raining here in the Midlands and that's moving north.

Oh for **** sake not again!

Derby were there for the taking the other day which I was seething about but I know Sheffield will be a lot more difficult, but I just don’t want the fixture congestion.

Plus I got bugger else to do tonight

If Sheffied get this game on, it shows Derby Cunty in a worse light.

There is no date left to play this game.

The EFL have already stated it's unfair for us to play an away game on the 17th, so the club could argue that point.

    Re: Snow in Sheffield

    The melt has started.

    Hopefully common sense rules.

If the match was 3.00 or even 5.00 I would be seriously worried, but the 7.45 kick off should be enough to ensure this goes ahead.

I love the Preston police tweet, taking the piss out of Derby!

    PNE Police

    @PNEPolice
@DCFCPolice @dcfcfans setting off for Preston best route is A50 - A500 - M6 reports of heavy snow on the M1........and we know you don’t do snow #dcfc #dcfcfans

Agree, I would imagine Sheffield Utd will also be more keen to get the game played than Derby were the other week in footballing terms so will be making an effort to get the match played whereas Derby did everything they could to avoid the match going ahead

    Re: Snow in Sheffield

The standing snow is still 4 inches deep in south west Sheffield and a lot of cars still struggling on hills but temperatures are rising and the melt is underway. The city centre and area around Bramall Lane is always better than the higher ground by us.

No buses yet (though snow starting to turn to slush where cars have passed) but the bin wagon has just come down our road. If they are working the gritters and buses should be close behind.

    Re: Snow in Sheffield

Bradford’s home game called off due to waterlogged pitch. I’m guessing water will be a bigger problem than snow as it rains through the day.

Doncaster off with a waterlogged pitch as well.

Hopefully Bramell Lane will be okay, they had a new pitch installed a couple of years back with better drainage
