Thread: Anthony Pilkington - cheers mate!

    Anthony Pilkington - cheers mate!

He’s played ten times for us this season, most of those cup appearances, and of the four league games he’s played, three were off the bench, two of which were in the last few minutes. He’s still manged five goals, including the one tonight that could be one of the most important goals of the season. What a top pro, what a lad.

    Well done Pilks

I said In another thread, I'd love to know his goal to minute ratio! Superb attitude.

    Hear hear.
Hasn't sulked and kept himself fit all season until needed.

I like Pilks as a player and think he could be used off the bench more often or for longer periods.

Always gives 100%, good on the ball and can score a goal or two. Been one of our most effective impact players and I loved his celebration, running to the touch line. Shows what a great team spirit there is.

After today I think it's about a goal every 63 minutes, this season

Take away the cup games and it's probably even better than that!

Point is, we had options off the bench and it showed.

Perfect character to have in the squad

His celebration was good. He ran straight to the bench and hugged Zohore (I think) whilst the rest of the team ran to the fans.

2 goals and 1 assist in 117 minutes of Championship football.

We could also use him off the bench next season in the Premiership, class player who scores goals we need to use him more?

Directly involved in a goal every 39 mins then. Not bad.

I think he'll go in the summer and people are forgetting that when he was playing regular he was widely regarded as inconsistent and "not the answer" to our then problem with scoring enough goals.Having said that he has been great for us when needed this season.

Great impact player as he offers something different, not a great starter as he doesn't really fit the system Warnock wants
