Thread: O/T - Plumber or Joiner advice required.

O/T - Plumber or Joiner advice required.

Just bought a new house that has a "utility cupboard" - basically a 70cm square cupboard where the washing machine sits below the tumble dryer. The dryer sits on a piece of worktop so thats all ok.

However my dryer moves around when its on - not much but a couple of mills each operation.

Is there anything I can do to secure it / bracket it to the wall?

    Thanks

I’d say the constant vibration of it when fixed to a wall or something would cause havoc with the plastering etc. I’m not an expert mind.

Fix a length of 2x1 on top of the shelf at the front to stop the machine moving forward.

Could you try them the other way round and see if the washing machine moves? I'm also in agreement with fine lines about securing to the wall

Sounds like it just needs levelling, I've got the same set-up with no issues.

Has it still got the transit bolts still in - this is the most common cause of machine moving around?

No, transit bolts have been removed. I think I will try levelling.
    Thanks for the info.
