Saw him at Ninian in the 0-0 FA Cup Tie January 1990 (Roy Wegerle took stick all game - he'd jusy signed for them for a million quid). Anyway, Ray Wilkins legs weren't what they used to be so just sat in midfield spraying passes everywhere. He was class.

    RIP Ray.

I was listening to him too, a week ago exactly I think. Always remember him saying you never know what’s around the corner. So sad.

    Great Footballer and Great Attitude.

Some of the premiership "stars" could learn a lot from the way this man conducted himself.

Yep I remember that as well - talking about Cyril Regis.

Always remember enjoying watching you play on MOTD in my younger days.

Enjoyed your comments and chat on TalkSport. You came across as intelligent, very articulate with a great love, a fantastic enthusiasm and an unbeatable knowledge of the game.

61 is far too young in this day and age

Sad. I remember him coming through at Chelsea. I think he became captain when he was still a teenager.

One of my favourite players when I was a kid, even though only ever seemed to pass the ball sideways. Always came across as such a gentleman aswell.

    Re: Butch Wilkins

I've always thought Michael Carrick was a fine player who was seriously underused by England, but, having seen the two of them play at their peak, I'd say Ray Wilkins was twice the player Carrick is/was. However, the best thing about Wilkins for me was that he could poke fun at himself.

RIP to a great footballer and a decent human being.

    What he say Jamo?

On a side note Warnock has requested a minutes applause tomorrow for Ray.
